CREATING SUPPORT Desire'e volunteers as the the team mom for the OJFA Jr. League Football team. In addition to makin sure that the players have clean uniforms and equipment, she advocates for the players, administers first aid and helps the players with homework. She is always trying to build their confidence and self-esteem up because a lot of them do not have much.

ENCOURAGING WELLNESS Packard is a triathlete that focuses on health and wellness in her community. The nominee has ran many races locally and out of city to raise awareness for others and charity. Currently, she connects first year students with opportunities through her Indigenous Student Peer Advocate position, engages with the Dartmouth community by promoting gender equity and continuously works to create a better standard through her academic and extracurricular works.

She authored an article called, “Native Youth: Five Reasons Your Vote Matters in 2020” to explain the different issue areas that impact native youth’s lives and encourage them to get out and vote.

She is a pathway to hope.
